DEBUT DIRECTOR INITIATIVE

Introducing another first for ICS Theatre - the Debut Director Initiative!

At ICS Theatre,  we believe in encouraging emerging artists, local talent, and community participation. In this new initiative, we extend our Emerging Artists’ Program by inviting first time directors to direct a play.

We received numerous entries and the debut directors have been selected and are working on their scripts!

ICST is proud to introduce the selection of the talented Priya N. Iyer as the debut director! For her debut direction, Priya presented the play, The Throne with No Caste, which was also written by her! The play is a satire that holds a mirror to the compromised integrity of our society.

The play was performed LIVE online on Zoom and broadcast via YouTube on September 26th at YouTube.com/ICSTheatreNJ.

The production got rave reviews for their performances, the direction and the story!

The play was followed by a discussion on the Debut Director Initiative where the director shared her experience directing for the first time and the guidance and support she received from stalwart directors associated with ICS Theatre! The crew and the cast shared the experiences as well!
